Weekend Recap

In the world of sports last weekend, there was a lot of action and here is a brief recap of what happened.

In the NBA Playoffs...the New York Knicks got Amare back for game 4 against the Heat. The Knicks avoided the sweep, but in the process they would lose Baron Davis as he dislocated his right kneecap. Sad to say, but I wouldn't count on seeing B.Diddy in a NBA uniform anymore. The timetable to recover from this about 12 months.
Teammate Amare Stoudemire said, "Baron's such a great guy off the court, as a teammate. He's a phenomenal locker room guy and to see that, I dropped down to one knee and said a prayer while he was on the ground. It was sad." Knicks play game 5 in Miami tomorrow night and look to avoid elimination.
The Chicago Bulls are on the ropes as they are down 3-1 in their series versus the 76ers. With D.Rose out and Joakim Noah is likely out for game 5, Carlos Boozer and Loul Deng will have to play major minutes and the bench will have to bring more in order for the Bulls to stay alive.

In the NFL, the rookie mini camp started. RG3, Andrew Luck took the field for their teams. So far, both organizations love what they see from their young quarterbacks. The Redskins feel this is the most talented QB they've had in a while and in coach Shanahan's system, RG3 should thrive in it. With Andrew Luck, the Colts said Luck looked as if  "he's been there before." Same thing they said about Peyton Manning, when they drafted him back in 1998.

Finally, to the boxing ring. At the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto took stage. Took put things in perspective...43 up and 43 down as Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr, has won yet again. Although there were no knock downs, Floyd would win by unanimous decision. Floyd has won  a world title in his fifth weight class and now has a career record of 43-0 (26 KO's). The big question is, will the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight ever happen? But, before that...the next opponent for Floyd is the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas to begin serving an 87 day sentence for misdemeanor domestic violence. Floyd said, "June 1st is just an obstacle that's in my way, when I go away, the only thing it can do is make me stronger as a person. And say to myself, next time you're faced with that situation, approach it in a different way."
