Former Linebacker Found Dead


Yesterday afternoon in Oceanside, California..former NFL Pro Bowl linebacker Junior Seau was found dead inside of his home. According to several reports, Seau committed suicide. His girlfriend found him dead, with a gunshot wound to the chest. The San Diego Chargers released a statement saying, "Everyone at the Chargers is in complete shock and disbelief right now. We ask everyone to stop what they're doing and send their prayers to Junior and his family." Junior Seau played 19 seasons in the NFL. Seau played college football at Univerity of Southern Cal (USC) and was drafted in 1990 by the San Diego Chargers. Several NFL players commented on his death via twitter, including Chad Ochocinco:
"My prayers and condolences to the family of one of the NFL's greatest linebackers to ever play the game ... Junior Seau ... RIP"

Junior was named  All Pro 10 times and to the Pro Bowl all 12 years he was with the Chargers. In 1994, he was named the AFC Player of the Year. In Seau's career, he played for 3 teams (San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots). He tallied 1,849 tackles and 56.5 sacks in his career. In 38 games for the Patriots...16 starts, he had 161 tackles (100 solo), 4.5 sacks, and 3 interceptions. Junior Seau was 43 years old.
